Nigerias Dangote Refinery to Operate at Full Capacity Within 30 Days

Nigeria's Dangote Oil Refinery, Africa's largest, is poised to achieve full operational capacity within the next 30 days, according to Edwin Devakumar, the head of the refinery. The facility, boasting a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, commenced crude processing in January of the previous year and began producing petrol by September. Currently operating at 85% capacity, the refinery has faced challenges in securing adequate local crude supplies, leading to the importation of crude to meet its processing needs. To address this, the refinery has requested 550,000 barrels per day of crude from Nigerian producers for the first half of the year. Additionally, the Dangote Refinery is exploring new markets and has recently dispatched jet fuel cargoes to Saudi Aramco, signaling its ambitions to compete with European refiners and expand its global footprint.
